Wreaths Across America Getting Set For Saturday

(Grand Island, NE) - This year, National Wreaths Across America Day will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Join the more than two million volunteers and supporters who will gather to Remember, Honor, and Teach at more than 4,000 participating locations in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad.

The theme for 2023 is “Serve and Succeed”

“There are many ways to serve your community and country, and just as many definitions of success. We hope through focusing on those stories of success we will help change the dialogue around what it means to serve your country.”- Karen Worcester, Executive Director, Wreaths Across America

Wreaths at several locations across Nebraska will be laid out on Saturday with the help of volunteers. Locally in Grand Island, the wreaths will be laid out at 11 am on December 16th after a short ceremony. One will come back to Grand Island, and the other truck will make a stop at the Arlington National Cemetery. 1,440 wreaths will be laid out at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery in Grand Island located off the corner of Capital Avenue and Webb Road.
