Grand Island Little Theatre presents "Steel Magnolias", a Comedy/Drama by Robert Harling at College Park.The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice. When the spunky Shelby (who is a diabetic) risks pregnancy, the sudden realization of their mortality draws on the underlying strength--and love--which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

Taste of Grand Island will be held at the Swine Arena on Fonner Park. At Taste of Grand Island, you can experience some of Grand Island and Central Nebraska's finest food and drink selections! Event attendees have a chance to sample unlimited food samples, six beverage tastings, and bid on some great auction items.
This event provides for a fun night out with friends and helps with worthy causes of supporting Youth Leadership Tomorrow and Rotary's End Polio Now program.

Nebraska Danger vs Salt Lake Screaming Eagles

The 2017 season marks the IFL's ninth season of play.
There are two new members, the Arizona Rattlers and the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles. They will join eight incumbents in a battle for the 2017 United Bowl crown.

Nebraska Danger will be in the Intense Conference along with the Arizona Rattlers, Colorado Crush, Salt Lake Screaming Eagles and Spokane Empire.

There are 16 games on the schedule (8 at home and 8 away) over 18 weeks. Each team will have two bye weeks, which will occur sporadically over the course of the season.

Third Annual B.A.C.A (Bikers Against Child Abuse) Chili Cook-off

April 22nd 2017 will be B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse) 3rd Annual chili cook off will be held at Hastings Eagles Club #592 (Fraternal Order of Eagles) 107 n Denver Ave Hastings, NE. B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse) exists with the intent to create a safer environment for abused children. We exist as a body of bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. Costs for this year’s event will be $5.00 to taste all chili. $2.00 Cinnamon Rolls donated by Tommy’s Restaurant in Grand Island. There will be a silent auction available to all patrons along with a 50/50 raffle. Tasting will begin 5pm until 7pm. Silent auction will be throughout the event and final bid will be at 7:30 pm. The silent auction has great items donated by many local businesses in and around the tri-cities. Showing their support to help stop child abuse and help empower our wounded friends. If you have a chili recipe you think could be a contender your welcome to enter. Cost to enter your chili is $10.00 per chili. We will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, walk-in entries are also welcome. For your music pleasure Smokey B & XYZ Band will be providing live blues and classic rock from 5:30pm-9:00pm come out jam and shake your tailfeathers. As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations to help meet the financial needs of our charter. Funds raised are used to provide therapy for abused children who otherwise could not afford it. No funds donated to B.A.C.A. are used for salaries for administrative personnel. We are an all—volunteer organization. All proceeds benefit Central Nebraska B.A.C.A. children. Bring the family out for a great night supporting a great cause. Mosaic's Partners in Possibilities Networking Fundraising Breakfast will be at  7:30am on Tuesday, April 25th at the Hotel Grand in Grand Island, NE. Mosaic's mission is embracing God's call to serve in the world by partnering with people with intellectual disabilities in Central and South Central Nebraska. It is a free one-hour networking fundraising breakfast and the funds raised will assist Mosaic in meeting the daily needs of those they serve that are not covered by Medicaid dollars, such as speech, physical and occupational therapy, flu shot, and repairs and maintenance of their homes and vehicles. This event is made possible by the following two sponsors, Midwest LTC Pharmacy and the Grand Hotel. Their sponsorship allows every dollar raised at this event to go directly to those Mosaic serves with intellectual disabilities.
